A house vocalist from Durban, who is on his way to the top, made a detour to Merafong recently. The 24-year-old Njabulo Ngubane appeared on Merafong FM’s Breakfast Show with radio DJ and producer, Musa Ma Afrikah Ramatla. Njabulo N, as he likes to be called, visited the area to introduce himself and his music to the Merafong audience. He is currently based in Soweto. Njabula was born and raised inKZN’s KwaMashu Township, where his career started. He has since performed around Durban and throughout South Africa. His career kicked off in 2008, under the influence of his brother and father, who is a guitarist. ‘I fell in love with house music after meeting producers and started venturing into production,’ he says. He began performing in 2011 after hosting several school events as part of the Love Life campaign. He says he really started taking his career seriously in 2013, after meetingthe popular DJ Cuebar. He released a single in 2016 titled ‘Indoku Enhle’ meaning ‘beautiful girl’, produced by Estatic Soul and Freedom Element. The hot track is available at online stores like Itunes and Estatic’s album titled Fantasy. He has also released a video that has been broadcast on SABC1, etv, Channel O and MTV. He will be releasing another single in May. He most recently performed at the South African Upcoming Music Awards at Joburg Theatre on 2 April.
