People who want to support a good cause while staying fit can take part in a charity race in Carletonville on Saturday.
According to the organiser, Ms Sikie Tshabalala, the event will take the form of a five-kilometre fun run or walk and will start and finish at the Carletonville Sports Centre.
Registration will start as early as 06:30 so that the race can start at 07:30.
The only entry fee for the event is at least one pack of sanitary pads.

‘I have spoken to high schools in the area and they have helped me to identify girls who, due to severe poverty, cannot afford sanitary pads and have to miss school during the time of their periods. I am holding this event especially to help them,’
Tshabalala told the Herald.
The three top runners will receive prizes while the first 50 people who finish will each get a medal. There will also be other prizes up for grabs.
