Mystery after body is found next to railway

The contorted and bruised body of a man was found next to a railway line in the area at around 16:00 on 3 October.
The communications officer, WO Peter Masooa confirmed that the person was a passenger that had either fallen, was thrown or pushed from the moving train. The police have opened an inquest docket that may become a
murder case as more information emerges. The person was certified dead by the paramedics and the deceased was
later identified as Siyabulele Magazi of an unknown address. One of the paramedics at the scene, Mr Gerrit Bradnick of Gladiator Distress Alert says Magazi’s body was found about 300 m from the old Bank station. According to his ID, Magazi’s body was, in fact, found on his birthday. The police are investigating the incident and urge the family of the deceased to come forward or contact them at 018 787 9317. According to a security guard who did not want to be named, hawkers on the train told her that the victim was standing near the open door of the train that had departed from Oberholzer’s train station to Johannesburg at 13:30. He appeared restless and kept moving back and forth before jumping out of the train on Monday, 2 October. The security guard informed the Safety Protection Unit and a search for the body ensued. It was only recovered the next day, however.
