Young Khutsong Fashion Designer

Mawonga Kula is a 23-year-old fashion designer from Khutsong who has just stepped into the fashion scene with an
ambition to become the next fashion guru. He was born and raised in Khutsong where his passion for fashion started simmering without him taking any action for the past three years. As time passed, he gained the courage to start designing after facing personal challenges that drove him to take the step. Art has been part of his life from a very young and he says if he is not making music he would be drawing sketches ‘I have been drawing from a young age.
I felt life in drawing as it reflects the goodness of nature and humanity,’ he expressed. He also describes drawing as
the art of expressing creativity by taking what is in the mind and making it come alive. He has moved on to formally
registering his own company, ‘Eagle King Fisher’, which was inspired by the fact that the eagle is the only bird that can catch fish while flying. He aims to be a fisher of men, he says. He is currently promoting his clothing brand, ‘Eagle’ and he’s planning to launch it early in 2018. He will also be launching his website for the brand. Kula specifically went for the clothing industry because he believes that clothing plays an important role in the human world. He aims to shift people’s mindsets from wearing popular brands to a new, unique, local brand. ‘I want people to be aware of these unique designs that have been on my mind from a long time ago,’ he says. His brand is also inspired by the high-flying eagle, its boldness and its triumphant spirit. ‘I want people to believe in themselves
because dreams come true only if you believe,’ he says. Contact him on Facebook:eagleapparel email: or WhatsApp him on 078 4766 306.
