JSC excels at nationals

Members of the Johannesbiurg Skydiving Club who took part in the national championship in Rustenburg over the long weekend.

While many other residents were relaxing, members of the Johannesburg Skydiving Club (JSC) took to the air and excelled over the Easter weekend.
Members of this club, situated next to Carletonville Extension 9, participated in the national skydiving championships at the Rustenburg Skydiving Club from 29 March to 1 April.
According to a spokesperson for the club, Brendon Nortier, several club members excelled during the event.
Four teams managed to secure first places. The Winnin’ It team, consisting of Braam van Heerden, Warren Hitchcock and Greg Fletcher (camera), won the intermediate free-fly event.
The 4-Tails team, consisting of Greg Waspe, Charl Coleman, Chris Badenhorst and Beverly Cosslett, walked off as the winners of the intermediate event for four-way formations.
The Professional Amateurs team, consisting of Ilke Greeff, Emené Peyper and Beverly Cosslett (camera), also held the club’s name high when they won the open event for two-way formations.
In the meantime, the Bootielicious team, with members Caroline Rex, Dino Paulo, Matt Futcher, Amy Kirtland and Bernard van Rensburg (camera) also showed that the JSC does not stand back for anyone by winning the novice event for four-way formations.
The SunBernt Sarmies team, consisting of Dino Paulo, Matt Futcher and Bernard van Rensburg (camera), won the novice event for two-way formations.
The Breaking Wind team, consisting of Brendon Nortier, Dylan Raffanti, Stevan Boskovic, Alex Jordaan and Gerrie Peyper (camera), was third in the novice category for four-way formations, Da Flying Squad with members Dylan Raffanti and Bryan Pather came third in the novice category for two-way formations and the Blues Brothers team of Thys Grové, Ludgero Pinto and Greg Fletcher (camera) took fourth place in the novice category for two-way formations.
Some individual skydivers also excelled.
Hendri Liebenberg was the runner-up and Gert-Louis Cilliers came third in the wingsuit performance category.
