Help with Callies blanket run

One of the blankets that have already been completed for next year.

Carletonville High School has launched a blanket run to make sure that elderly residents, especially, sleep snugly next winter.
According to the initiator of the project, Ms Wessels, it has gained so much momentum that several blankets have already been completed for next year.
‘At this stage, we already have more than 3 700 squares and have finished 18 blankets,’ she said on Tuesday. If this pace continues, a total of 47 blankets will be ready in about two months’ time. All of the blankets are donated to charity.’
She is calling on the community to give all the help it can.
‘We need hands that can knit or crochet, or, if you can’t do that, why not donate some double-knit wool? We would love to make this project a huge success,’ she said.
Anyone who wants to take part can call her at 079 490 8457.
