‘Ama Cheese Boys’ ELFA Champions

EVATON. – Nale Academy is Sedibeng U/17 champions after they were crowned the Emfuleni Local Football Association’s Under-17 Champ Of Champs Play-Offs.

This was held at Qedilizwe’s Astro turf in Evaton North during the festive season. The four teams participating in these playoffs were LSB FC, Sebokeng Academy, Nale Academy and Evaton Youth Academy (EYA). Ama Cheese Boys (Nale Academy) beat Sebokeng Academy 4 – 3 on penalties. The four teams that participated in the tournament were the winners in their four respective streams.

Speaking after the playoffs, ELFA Chairman Mondli Nkosi said he was overwhelmed by the talent displayed that day.
Nkosi said he was also happy that the playoffs finally took place and they were under pressure to produce the winner in this region.

“As the chairman of the association I would like to congratulate Nale Academy for being crowned ELFA Champions and we wish them the best of luck. I also want to take this opportunity to thank all the participating teams and my executive committee for a job well done in 2015. It wasn’t easy but we managed to pull together and my highlight of the year 2015 was when junior soccer teams received their prizes for the first time after ten years,” said Nkosi.

Meanwhile, Super League teams are urged to come forward to affiliate for the new season to kick off February 6. The league will start with a preliminary tournament scheduled to take place at various venues in Sedibeng on January 23-24. There will be a workshop on January 22.
